An inside look at Fused Glass Mosaics

Our studio is ready to celebrate Halloween. Now, some glass fusers say this is what happens when you sit too close to the kiln! Others say it's what happens when you wait impatiently for the kiln to fire. Firing can take more than 24 hours for each load, and most pieces require two firings to be complete. One year and two months ago today, our first fused glass kiln was delivered! It was monstrously heavy and we were in awe of the lone delivery man who dragged it uphill onto the driveway and into the studio - fully crated and boxed. It took the ingenuity of two Boy Scout leaders and an Eagle Scout to figure how to create enough leverage to lift this 500 pound beauty up and onto the movable rack!
