🌟 Why We Use Crumpled Paper (Not Packing Peanuts) to Ship Your Fused Glass

At Blazing Star Arts, every fused glass piece we make is one of a kind — layered, fired, and shaped by hand with color and care. When it’s time to send your artwork to its new home, we treat it with the same thoughtful attention we give it in the studio. You might notice that your package arrives surrounded by crumpled brown paper instead of foam packing peanuts. That’s not a random choice — it’s part of how we protect both your art and the planet. Here's why!
1. Paper Protects Better
Crumpled paper molds perfectly around each piece, filling every gap and keeping it snug. Packing peanuts, on the other hand, can shift or settle, leaving space for glass to jostle. Paper keeps everything steady and supported, like a soft nest made just for your art, so it arrives safely.

2. No Mess, No Static
Unpacking should be joyful — not messy! Foam peanuts stick to everything: your hands, your artwork, even your pets. Crumpled paper stays put. It’s easy to unwrap, easy to recycle.
3. 💚 Kinder to the Planet
We believe beautiful things shouldn’t come at the earth’s expense. Most packing peanuts are made from polystyrene — a plastic that’s hard to recycle and doesn’t break down. Even the “biodegradable” versions can be confusing to dispose of properly. Paper is recyclable, compostable, and often made from recycled materials. It's also why we reuse previously shipped boxes in good condition.

4. In a Nutshell
Our packaging reflects who we are: artists who care deeply about craftsmanship, beauty, and responsibility.
Crumpled paper is:
Safer for fused glass
Cleaner and static-free
100% recyclable and compostable
Adds box strength and stability
True to our eco-friendly values
By choosing Blazing Star Arts, you’re supporting sustainable creativity and mindful making. Every piece you order travels safely, beautifully, and responsibly — from our kiln to your hands. 💫
